Hi Kirsten,
I've asked our director of operations to share his wisdom about filming taking place @ MOV. See attached doc he forwarded + message below:
I only have one doc for filming in the MOV (attached) specific to filming in artifact spaces. We have not had a large movie shoot that uses our galleries, mostly just lobbies and each shoot is so uniquely strange that generic advice is tricky. The main key for us is just enough staff to monitor spaces they are in while they work as communication though a crew is also very spotty at best.
My personal best tip, get to know the locations crew, make them your friends and make sure they know what you are concerned about and make it their concern as well.
Hope this helps.

Be careful as they will modify things to suit them. See if they will pay one of your volunteers to oversee their operation. We've had film crews who have removed lighting and damaged walls. They always say they will pay for damages but for us it takes a lot of time to fix what they take apart. Money doesn't always help.

Subject: [BCMA] Filming Guidelines for Historic Properties
We’re in discussions about having a movie filmed on our historic site (sawmill site with housing). Does anyone have filming guidelines they’re willing to share, or suggested resources?
I’m thinking about restrictions or any other matters that should be discussed with the film company, particularly with regards to the protection of the historic resource.
Thanks!
