*Orion Lecture in Fine Arts: Unmasking Meaning: Culture, Collection and
Family.*
For this special lunch time Orion Lecture, join us for a discussion about
museums, conservation and decolonization. Dr. Kim Dhillon will moderate a
conversation between Monika Zessnik - Curator of North American Collections
at the Ethnologisches Museum in Berlin and Carey Newman - Impact Chair in
Indigenous Art Practices at UVic. The dialogue will revolve around the
Nulis Mask, a cultural object that now resides in the collection of the
Ethnologisches Museum, but once belonged to the Newman family.
