*‘Bit by Bit’: Getting Started with Digital Preservation and Managing
Digital Objects*
Date: Wednesday, March 11, 2026
Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm PST
Location: online via Zoom

This introductory workshop taught by Sarah Story, covers digital
preservation fundamentals and practical first steps for assessing and
managing digital assets for long-term access. Participants will learn the
functions of digital preservation and how to understand, document, protect,
monitor, and maintain their digital materials. Designed for archivists,
community heritage workers, and volunteers with little experience in
digital preservation - or those feeling overwhelmed – this session will
help clarify priorities and identify achievable first steps toward a
digital preservation program.

Registration fee: $90.00 (AABC members); $135.00 (non-members)
