Penticton artists unveil immersive installation at Kelowna Art Gallery
Danielle Savage and Alexandra Goodall: Home Without a Name
February 7 to May 24, 2026
Camille and David Saltman Gallery
at the Kelowna Art Gallery
February 4, 2026 - Kelowna, BC: Audiences can experience an immersive multi-media journey as part of a new exhibition to open at the Kelowna Art Gallery. Home Without a Name by Penticton-based artists Danielle Savage and Alexandra Goodall transforms an exhibition space into a meditative environment of sound, light, and texture.
At the center of a darkened room, visitors will encounter a glowing circular form that hovers in the air, reminiscent of an Ouroboros, an ancient symbol that depicts a serpent or dragon eating its own tail. The illuminated form is wrapped in raw wool and textiles that catch and diffuse the light like a living organism. Viewers will be bathed in a multi-channel sound composition that moves throughout the Camille and David Saltman Gallery space. Together, these visual and sonic elements invite visitors into a captivating experience that feels both intimate and expansive and may conjure up themes of cycles, reincarnation, and portals.
"We are such a visual culture, I wanted to approach my textile sculptural work in a way that didn't dominate the space," says Alexandra Goodall. "I have been curious to explore what an exhibition might look like that has a balance between a strong visual component and a sonic experience within the space."
"As we began to influence each other's process, the perfect simplicity of the circular shape became an anchor for the complexity of the subject matter we were each grappling with," says Danielle Savage. "It became a counterpoint to the meandering, sometimes jarring exploration within the sound world I was creating."
Home Without a Name runs from February 7 to May 24, 2026. It is presented in the Camille and David Saltman Gallery at the Kelowna Art Gallery. The Kelowna Art Gallery gratefully acknowledges the support of partner RBC Royal Bank and funding from the Canada Council for the Arts.
Alexandra Goodall is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice integrates textile installation, psychology, and embodied experience. Devotional and irreverent, organic and technological, drawing on traditional skills in service to unconventional applications, Alexandra's work is an attempt at researching and transmitting relational experience through material.
Danielle Savage is a composer and sound artist whose work spans multichannel sound, collaborative installation, chamber music, and popular forms. Her practice explores sound through duality at multiple scales: from the microscopic to the cosmic, natural to cultural, textural to tonal. Her sounds have been performed or presented in hundreds of places.
The Kelowna Art Gallery is located at 1315 Water Street in the heart of Kelowna's Cultural District. For more information, visit kelownaartgallery.com or call 250-762-2226.
