Hello BCMA Colleagues!

For Immediate Release

Celebrate the Family Day Long Weekend with Special Events organized by the
Sidney Museum

Sidney, British Columbia, February 4, 2025 - The Sidney Museum is excited
to present some amazing special events during the Family Day Long Weekend
running February 14-16.

The Sidney Museum is open all weekend long from 10:00am-4:00pm. Come take a
walk through time celebrating 20 years of the Annual LEGO® Exhibition.
There will also be fun activities including Guess the Number of Bricks and
Find a special hidden Minifigure. Admission is by donation.

While you’re at the museum, watch LEGO® Certified Professional Robin Sather
build a giant birthday cake out of LEGO® DUPLO® blocks. Drop in to say
hello and watch him work all weekend long.

Also returning to the Sidney Museum is the fan-favorite Peninsula Co-op’s
Community Mosaic build. Contribute a unique piece to this work of art which
will eventually be showcased to the public.

Before you leave make sure to pick up your Beacon Avenue Scavenger Hunt and
then set off through the town to find LEGO® sets on display in
participating businesses. Find them all and be entered in a draw to win a
prize.

Make your way to Rooms 3 & 4 in the Mary Winspear Centre where the Victoria
LEGO® Users Group (VicLUG) will have an extensive display set up for your
viewing pleasure.

The Sidney Museum would like to thank Peninsula Co-op for sponsoring the
2026 Sidney Museum LEGO® Brick Exhibition and Family Day Weekend Events.

The Sidney Museum is located at 2423 Beacon Avenue, in the lower level of
the Old Post Office building. The Museum is open seven days a week from
10:00am-4:00pm. Entrance is by donation. Please visit the Museum’s website
for more details on the current and upcoming exhibitions.

*We respectfully acknowledge the Sidney Museum & Archives has been shaped
by the colonial history of Canada, and is located in Sidney/SETINES on the
territory of the W̱SÁNEĆ People including the **BOḰEĆEN (Pauquachin),
SȾÁ,UTW̱ (Tsawout), MÁLEXEŁ (Malahat), W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip) and W̱SÍḴEM

*We understand that territory acknowledgment is just one part of
Reconciliation, and the museum continues to work towards other ways that we
can participate in Reconciliation alongside Indigenous communities.*
