[BCMA] seeking information on process for security cameras

Hi colleagues,

Our museum suffered a break-in this morning - thankfully no significant
losses or damage. But my board's first question has of course been about
installing a camera in the museum space. For context we are one tenant in a
larger community arts/culture building that is administered by a non-profit
organization. We would be installing the camera in our space only.

We're a small organization with two staff, without a lot of time to deep
dive into this, so I am hoping that someone has been down this road before
and could share information on the privacy rules around cameras in a public
space. Have you had any successful recompense from having cameras in your
space when there has been an incident - have the police been able to make
use of it footage?

Thanks in advance!

Kira
