Making Meaning, Making Change | September 23–25, 2025

Interpretation is about more than sharing facts — it’s about making meaning
that moves people. Join us for Making Meaning, Making Change, a dynamic
three-day online workshop where we’ll dive into how interpretation can
inspire relevance, connection, and real-world action.

Day One: We’ll unpack what meaning making is and explore practical
techniques — from thematic interpretation to participatory and dialogic
approaches — including how these ideas apply in non-personal interpretation.

Day Two: Discover powerful case studies that reflect the richness of
diverse audiences, topics, and settings, and see how meaning making could
bridge differences and foster deeper understanding.

Day Three: Learn from recent research, look ahead with Interpretation
Canada’s vision for the future, and celebrate the achievements of fellow
interpreters. We’ll wrap up with a thoughtful discussion on the impacts of
meaning making — and help you craft a plan to apply these insights in your
own work.

Whether you work in natural or cultural interpretation, and whether you're
just starting out or bring years of experience, this workshop offers fresh
inspiration, practical tools, and a welcoming community. Come be part of
the conversation — let’s make meaning and make change together!

Stay tuned for more details.
