[BCMA] Job Posting: Coordinator of Indigenous Programs and Engagement @ Kelowna Museums

Hello,

Kelowna Museums Society is looking to fill the position of Coordinator of Indigenous Programs and Engagement.

The Coordinator of Indigenous Programs and Engagement supports KMS’s values and goals by broadening community awareness and appreciation of Indigenous history, culture and perspectives, with a focus on the syilx community and way of living with the land. The position will engage in outreach with Indigenous communities to build meaningful relationships. Community engagement may involve attending in-person networking events, supporting partner events, site visits, etc. The position works with community groups, Knowledge Carriers, and Elders to develop programs that stimulate discussion and encourage learning.
The Coordinator of Indigenous Programs and Engagement helps inspire decolonized understandings of history by offering guided learning experiences and utilizes a variety of in-person tools to engage school and community groups, adults, families, and diverse audiences.
The ideal candidate will have ancestral and community ties to the syilx / Okanagan Nation.
