The Sidney Museum Organizes a Great Lineup of Events for the 2024 Family
Day Long Weekend

Sidney, British Columbia, January 26, 2024 - The Sidney Museum is excited
to present another year of fun during the Family Day Long Weekend, running
February 16 - 19, 10:00am - 4:00pm. There will be LEGO®-themed activities
designed for families and children of every age.

Visit the Sidney Museum to see hundreds of LEGO® models and pick up your
Beacon Avenue Scavenger Hunt. Businesses and organizations from all over
town will have LEGO® sets on display in their windows and storefronts. Find
them all and be entered in a draw to win fabulous LEGO® prizes!

In addition, the Sidney Museum is delighted to welcome back one of Canada’s
only LEGO® Certified Professionals – Robin Sather! Robin will be at the
Museum over the weekend building a 6 foot LEGO® model of local landmarks,
Sidney’s Pier and the Fish Market. Drop in to say hello and watch a Master
Builder at work.

Also returning to the Sidney Museum is the fan-favorite Peninsula Co-op’s
Community Mosaic. Contribute a piece to this work of art which will
eventually be showcased at a local Peninsula Co-op location!

After you’ve taken in the sights and activities at the Sidney Museum,
stroll on down to the Sidney Pier Hotel & Spa’s Sallas Room where the
Victoria LEGO® Users Group will be set up with a variety of dioramas, from
fairground attractions to modular cities.

“With our popular LEGO® Brick Exhibition returning for its 18th consecutive
year, we are very excited to continue what has become a community
tradition,” says Michael Goodchild, the Executive Director of the Sidney
Museum. “LEGO® has a remarkable ability to appeal to nearly any age and
interest, from real-world architecture to references to beloved movies and
TV shows,” continues Goodchild. “Working on the exhibit and Family Day
activities is a real treat and our team is looking forward to sharing in
everyone’s excitement!”

The Sidney Museum would like to thank Peninsula Co-op for sponsoring the
2024 Sidney Museum LEGO® Exhibition and Family Day Weekend Events.

The Sidney Museum is located at 2423 Beacon Avenue, in the lower level of
the Old Post Office building. The Museum is open seven days a week from
10:00am-4:00pm. Entrance is by donation. Please visit the Museum’s website
for more details on the current and upcoming exhibitions.
