Hello everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. The Lower Mainland Curators Group is delighted to extend an invitation to the upcoming meetup on January 25th, 2024, from 3 pm to 4:30 pm. This event will take place at the Chinese Canadian Museum, housed within the historic Wing Sang Building in Vancouver's Chinatown.

Join us for an informative session where you will receive an introduction to all the galleries currently on display. Explore the rich history, contributions, and heritage of Chinese Canadians while engaging with narratives that span from the 18th century to the present day.

The Museums three current exhibitions, "Odysseys and Migration," "The Paper Trail to the 1923 Chinese Exclusion Act," and "Period Rooms: Historic School Room and Living Room," offer unique insights into the diverse experiences within this community. Learn about the fascinating story behind the museum's home, nestled within the oldest heritage structure in Vancouver's Chinatown, the iconic Wing Sang Building.

To make this event even more meaningful and contribute to a new museum’s success, we kindly suggest considering a donation or a purchase from their gift shop.

RSVPs are required due to limited space. Please email lowermainlandcurators at gmail.com <mailto:lowermainlandcurators at gmail.com> at your earliest convenience.

The Lower Mainland Curators Group (LMCG) was created in January 2019 for anyone with an interest in curatorial work, ideas, or themes in British Columbia.
The group is coordinated by a team of volunteer organizing members from museums around Metro Vancouver to discuss topics or themes related to curatorial work. It is for anyone with an interest in our sector including students,
museum workers, and those in professions facing similar issues. We present quarterly virtual and in-person sessions to discuss newly launched projects, share challenges and successes, and discuss lessons learned.

Cheers,
