Hello,

The Crossing Fonds research team would like to announce a critical digital
archives symposium <https://crossingfonds.com/symposium-2024/> in Metro
Vancouver and online from April 25-28, 2024 and invite short student
presentations <https://crossingfonds.com/student-call-for-presentations/>
(proposals
due February 29).

Pre-conference symposium workshops will include hands-on training in
collaborative annotation, visualization, and cataloguing tools. Panels will
explore topics such as archival ethics of care, data visualization,
Indigenous data sovereignty, collaborative tools and methods,
community-centred collections created for and with equity-deserving
communities, and more. Panels feature archival projects from IBPOC, queer
and trans, and disabled communities. Evening receptions, exhibitions, and
film screenings will take place at VIVO Media Arts
