I am interested in this discussion thanks to contributions
Consider giclee copies of paintings high quality reproductions if alot of
filming is done in front of them
What happens if the filmed interact with artefacts , eat drink ? Move
things? I would suggest thorough clean post filming and if crew interacts
with artefacts , actor drags a chair in not a museum way of moving it is
the chair robust enough / make a stunt chair i leave to the situation to
you to consider
Some old buildings have old wiring the original wiring will it take the
filming addition? Get an electrician to check
Record things that are moved in and out of the set , is the Ming vase a
stage prop or original in the set , you don’t want to collect or lose an
artefact in filming

I’ma British conservator coming to BC shortly , I applied for a position
with Spenser Fry, Claire Fry a leading Brit conservator on icon board etc
runs a company that specialises in providing conservators to oversee
filming in historic locations
Cheers
Paul Harrison
