[BCMA] Job Opportunities at the Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre

Hello,

The VHEC is seeking candidates for two part-time contract positions to complete a grant-funded project in 2024-2025.

The Project Archivist is responsible for:


  *
Historical research;
  *
Item-level and collection-level processing (including arrangement, description, rights analysis, physical storage);
  *
Finding aid production;
  *
Creation of catalogue records in the VHEC collections management system;
  *
Support the Archivist in consultations with external service providers such as conservators and translators.

The Digital Archivist is responsible for:


  *
Digitization of records including diaries, drawings, documents, correspondence and photographs;
  *
Following digital preservation guidelines;
  *
Generate metadata and data entry into the VHEC collections management system;
  *
Experience with digital photography of artifacts an asset.

The Project Archivist and Digital Archivist will work closely together. The positions require working with records relating the Holocaust and may include content that is graphic in nature, upsetting or triggering. This is an opportunity to contribute to a collaborative team and a social justice mandate.
