Call for Proposals for The WALL

Vancouver Heritage Foundation is accepting proposals from independent curators and artists for the next WALL artwork to be installed next spring.
The WALL is a large format artists’ platform made possible through a unique partnership between Vancouver Heritage Foundation and CBC/Radio-Canada. It is produced in partnership with the City of Vancouver Public Art Program and additional support is provided by JJ Bean Coffee Roasters. The WALL is a 60’x 40’ concrete wall with an aluminum frame that is the site of a changing program of artworks located at the CBC building on Hamilton Street between Georgia and Robson Streets. Artwork is installed annually and is displayed for 6- 18 months.
Applicants should respond to and reflect upon Vancouver’s history, heritage and built environment1 when researching for and developing a concept for The WALL. The primary purpose of the platform is to foster dialogue and create public awareness of our changing city. The selected artist or curator will have the opportunity to virtually explore the CBC Archives collection to research and inform their artwork intended for exhibition on The WALL.
The deadline to apply is October 23rd at 5pm.
