[BCMA] Job Opportunities with Forager Foundation

Hello Heritage Professionals,

Forager Foundation has stepped in to keep the doors open at the Point
Ellice House Museum in Victoria while the Province searches for a long-term
manager. While we embark on this 8-month contract, we are looking to hire a
few positions to work on-site.

*MUSEUM MANAGER*
The Museum Manager will work directly with the Acting Director of Heritage
on-site for the entire run of this contract and will be responsible for
helping welcome visitors, assessing the current state of the museum’s
collection, and working on recommendations for how the Site can develop.

Wage: $30/hour
Days: 35 hours per week

Responsibilities

   - Supervise the care and maintenance of 3 buildings and 2-acres of
   gardens.
   - Manage the part-time Heritage Garden Manager and coordinate
   maintenance schedules.
   - Manage the part-time Visitor Experience & Volunteer Coordinator.
   - Develop a Volunteer Manual in coordination with the Visitor Experience
   & Volunteer Coordinator.
   - Coordinate marketing and communications with the Marketing Team.
   - Oversee the development of educational programs in association with
   the Education Team.
   - Respond to queries concerning the collection and requests for
   inter-facility artifact loans.
   - Train staff in museum operations, educational programs, exhibits, etc.
   - Collaborate with the Grants Coordinator to identify relevant funding
   sources and assist the Director of Heritage in preparing grant applications.
   - Work with the Accountant to prepare and monitor the operations budget.
   - Work with the team to plan and develop new exhibitions.
   - Prepare reports and recommendations regarding museum operations.
   - Perform other job duties as assigned.


*VISITOR EXPERIENCE & VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR*
The Visitor Experience & Volunteer Coordinator will work directly with the
Museum Manager on-site for the entire run of this contract and will be
responsible for helping welcome visitors, outreach to new volunteers, and
building a framework for successful volunteer opportunities.

Wage: $28/hour
Days: 3-4 days per week

Responsibilities

   - Collaborate on the development of a volunteer program at the Site.
   - Coordinate volunteer outreach campaigns.
   - Develop relationships with volunteers and build a schedule to
   strengthen the program's efficiency.
   - Open and close the museum on open days.
   - Coordinate the museum’s gift shop and track inventory.
   - Welcome visitors to the museum and take payments.
   - Track visitor demographics.
   - Perform other job duties as assigned.
