[BCMA] Event: Photography Workshop with Cora DeVos at the Vancouver Maritime Museum

The Vancouver Maritime Museum is excited to close out our Gold Series programs with an exclusive beginner photography workshop from Inuk photographer Cora DeVos! Join us Sunday, April 2nd from 12:00pm-4:30pm to take part in this exciting educational experience for all experience levels!

This 19+ workshop will begin with a short presentation by Cora on the work exhibited in the VMM's Souls Ignited exhibit. We will learn about Cora’s process of taking the photos and find out more about the inspiration and reasons for these photographs.

Following this, students will learn the basic steps of how to take portrait photographs including motion and angles, and then practice the techniques they have learned by taking photos of each other in different environments (inside and outside).

No prior photography experience is needed! Just bring yourself and any camera you have available (including smartphones!)

Schedule of the day

  *   12:00pm – 1:00pm: Self-Guided tour of the museum
  *   1:00pm – 1:15pm: Hello and Welcome/Drinks and snacks are served
  *   1:15pm – 1:30pm: Presentation by Cora on her work in Souls Ignited
  *   1:30pm – 4:00pm: Hands on learning about portrait photography
  *   4:00pm – 4:30pm: Wrap Up & Discussion

This is a 19+ event as alcohol will be available to participants! Beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks and small snacks are included in the price of the workshop ticket. Limit 2 free drinks per person.
