*Funding Alert: New Funding for Repatriation through Community Gaming
Grants*


BC Museums Association would like to flag newly announced funding from the
BC Government Community Gaming Grant that might be of interest. Please

*Highlights from the Government Website:*

The Community Gaming Grant program has added a category to their Capital
Project Grants
<https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/sports-culture/gambling-fundraising/gaming-grants/capital-project-grants>
for
the repatriation of Indigenous cultural belongings and ancestors. The funds
support not-for-profit organizations sending or receiving belongings and
ancestors and will support transportation, travel and ceremonial costs in
projects that are ready to implement.



*Eligibility:*

Not-for-profit organizations that provide programs or services that benefit
the community, who are completing a capital project (facilities, community
infrastructure, acquisitions or repatriation) intended to enhance quality
of life in their community.



Funding may be provided up to a maximum of $250,000; providing between 20
and 50 per cent of the total estimated project cost.



*Application Deadline:*

Apply between June 5 and August 3, 2023.
Notification expected by December 31, 2023.
