*Hello, *

Members of the heritage conservation field across the country are urged to
participate in this survey about efforts to safeguard the tangible and
intangible qualities of heritage places, and the future relevance of the
field.

The survey is part of a larger project – the Heritage Reset – designed to
accelerate key conversations within the field about our values and the
purpose of our work. Led by the National Trust and more than a dozen
heritage organizations across the country, outcomes of the research will
inform actions the heritage practitioners can take to reach a broader
audience with heritage conservation in a way that is informed by society’s
priorities and values. Environics Research, an independent research
company, is conducting this survey on behalf of the National Trust for
Canada.

For the purpose of this study, “Heritage conservation field” refers to all
those who self-identify as heritage practitioners or are involved with
heritage places, whether employed or as volunteers – and their practices
related to understanding, safeguarding, conserving, rehabilitating,
adapting, or interpreting heritage places.

“Heritage places” include but are not limited to landscapes, sites, areas
of land, buildings and structures, archaeological sites and other physical
places that are valued by individuals, communities, or governments for
their cultural, social, or historic heritage significance.

Thank you for your interest and participation. Results will be shared
widely and the field’s possible response to findings will be discussed at
the next National Trust conference, The Heritage Reset: Making Critical
Choices in fall 2022.

To provide additional comments, or for information about the survey or the
Heritage Reset project: reset at nationaltrustcanada.ca

Your participation in this survey is voluntary, your responses will remain
confidential, as well, you will remain ANONYMOUS.
