*Webinar: Archives 101 for Summer Students!*
Are you starting your summer contract working with archival records but not
sure what to do? Join the AABC for the training opportunity “Archives 101
for Summer Students!”. This 3.0 hour, online webinar will introduce
participants to archival terminology, accessioning, and appraisal. Building
upon these themes, participants will learn strategies for organizing legacy
collections (aka tackling your backlog of records). We will also talk about
best practices and standards for processing records in different formats
(textual records, photographic images, audio visual media, and electronic
records) and how to create a stable and secure environment to promote the
long-term preservation, access, and use of archival records. Students,
volunteers, and new employees are welcome!
*If your summer student has not yet started, you are welcome to register
for the webinar and you will receive a link to the webinar recording to
accompany the slides/handouts.
