Curatorial Collections Intern
Richmond Museum
August 29, 2022 to December 30, 2022
HOURS OF WORK: August 29 - December 30| 35 hours per week | $24.00/hour

The Richmond Museum seeks a creative, professional, positive and organized individual to work as a part of our Curatorial Collections Team. This position is based out of the City's artefact storage warehouse (Unit 101-7080 River Road) and Britannia Shipyards, National Historic Site.

Responsibilities:
* Assess a 5000+ artefact collection focused on shipbuilding, canning and domestic life.
* Organize documentation and enter it into the collections database.
* Accession and photograph artefact collection.
* Research the history of the collecting processes at Britannia Shipyards.
* Write reports, create, and execute plans.
* Undertake general collections management activities as required.

Skills Required
* Intermediate skills with collections management systems.
* Excellent writing skills.
* Superior research, organizational and planning skills.
* Ability to work independently.
* Demonstrated experience working with primary and secondary sources.

Qualifications Required:
* Graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in a related field (history, archeology, anthropology).
* An interest in pursuing a career in the Museum & Heritage field or Archives.
* Working towards a Certificate, Diploma or Masters in Museum or Archival Studies an asset.
* Previous work or volunteer experience with artefact collections an asset.
* Must meet the YCW eligibility requirements.
