Hello,

The Vernon Museum & Archives is deaccessioning a RCAF uniform which includes: 2 pairs of black boots, a hat, two shirts and a dark blue military great coat. They belonged to Colonel John Newlove, who was a among many other things a Base Commander in North Bay, and the Honorary Aide de Camp to the Governor General. Later in his career he worked with missile, satellite's and space defense programs, mostly out east and overseas. The clothes date from 1968, though he was serving up until the early 90s. The objects come with a one page biography written by the donor. The objects are in excellent condition.

Please contact carolyn.ben at vernonmuseum.ca<mailto:carolyn.ben at vernonmuseum.ca> if you would like to know more information or if you would like some photos. Any costs associated with acquiring the objects will rest with your institution. To give you a general idea it is costing about $50-$60 to send a heavy RCAF jacket across the province via Canada Post, though prices are expected to go up.

Thank you,

Carolyn Ben (she/her)
