The BC Government has announced more details regarding proof of vaccination
and the BC Vaccine Card. The proof of vaccination will come into effect on
September 13th. There will be a grace period between September 13th and 26th
where other forms of vaccination proof will be accepted.

Events, businesses and services requiring proof of vaccination will ask to
see the BC Vaccine Card, or proof of vaccination and government photo ID
after September 13th in order for visitors to access their
services/activities. Businesses and events will have access to an app, not
yet released, where they can scan the BC Vaccine Card QR code to confirm
visitors' vaccination status. Businesses and events may also ask to see a
paper proof of vaccination alongside government issued photo ID.

For information on how to get the BC Vaccine Card and to learn more about
the proof of vaccination click here

*How does this impact museums, galleries, and heritage organizations? *

As of today, September 7th, 2021 the BCMA does not have concrete guidelines
for museums. The BCMA will be participating in a briefing on September 8th
with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, and Sport where specific
information for our sector will be provided. If you have questions that you
would like the BCMA to provide the Ministry, please email us at
bcma at museum.bc.ca before 12pm noon tomorrow, September 8th.
