Hello everyone!

On behalf of the *Maple Ridge Museum & Community Archives*, I would like to
share an opportunity to cover a maternity leave position for *Community
Engagement Coordinator*.

This role oversees all programs, events, community outreach, and volunteers
for our two historic sites: The Maple Ridge Museum and the Haney House
Museum in Maple Ridge, BC. We are a small, but very enthusiastic team that
offers an incredibly positive and collaborative work environment, overseen
by a supportive board of directors.

The highlight of this coverage position will be to launch the
inaugural season of "Museum on the Move": a roving museum pop-up program
that will work with a variety of community partners to offer free,
accessible, and interactive museum learning opportunities around the city
and surrounding areas.

*Job term: *12 months, with possibility of extension. Start date Feb. 21st,
2022.

*Salary:* $23.00/hour

*Work location: *Maple Ridge Museum at 22520 - 116 avenue, Maple Ridge

*Schedule*: 35 hours / week. Must be available to work Sundays and cover
some evenings / weekends for programs and events.

*Required qualifications:*
- bachelor's degree in history, education, museum studies, anthropology; or
comparable education & experience;
- experience with event planning, public programing, and
creating/delivering educational programs;
- demonstrated ability in public speaking and working with outside partners;
- experience supervising paid staff and volunteers;
- a go getter, extroverted personality who thinks creatively;
- valid drivers' license with clean abstract and access to a reliable
vehicle.
- ability to lift 25 lbs: our outreach programming involves carrying bins
of supplies and setting up tents / signage / and other equipment.
