of experiences and relationships that contribute to our collective heritage, fostering its preservation for future generations.

throughout the Feature Exhibit Gallery and will offer visitors a chance to immerse themselves through interactive elements that make history engaging for the young and young-at-heart. Its themes of memory and storytelling will resonate with anyone interested
in cultural heritage, local history, and community storytelling. Visitors will be invited to explore these connections and feel inspired to think about their own connections to objects and history – whether through family heirlooms, everyday items, or places

based on their opinion of what is an important piece and/or what vital story it holds. The community-curated pieces also reflect the exhibit’s goal of making history hands-on and inclusive.
</span><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Also, new perspectives will be formed when visitors contribute their own voices to the exhibition. This sense of belonging and connection helps to demonstrate how history is shaped by many

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-CA" style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Built in 1894, the Gulf of Georgia Cannery also known as the “Monster Cannery” was the largest among more than 15 canneries that occupied the Steveston waterfront.
The Cannery stopped canning salmon in the 1930s but, was maintained as a net loft, fish depot, and later as a herring reduction plant. During WWII, the Cannery canned herring for Allied troops. Today, it is home to over 10,000 artifacts, documents, books,
and photographs relating to both the Gulf of Georgia Cannery and the West Coast fishing industry. Since 1994, the Gulf of Georgia Cannery has educated and enriched its communities through exhibitions, collections, public programs, and events making history

<p class="MsoNormal"><i><span lang="FR-CA" style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Construite en 1894, la conserverie de poisson Gulf of Georgia Cannery, également connue sous le nom de « Monster Cannery », (Conserverie monstre), était la plus
grande des 15 conserveries qui occupaient le front de mer de Steveston. La conserverie a cessé ses activités de mise en conserve du saumon dans les années 1930. Elle a par la suite servi d’entrepôt de filets, de dépôt de poissons et, plus tard, est devenue
une usine de réduction du hareng. Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, la conserverie a été reconfigurée pour la mise en conserve de hareng pour les troupes alliées. Elle est aujourd’hui le lieu de conservation de plus de 10 000 objets, documents, livres et
photographies relatifs à la conserverie de poisson Gulf of Georgia Cannery et à l’industrie de la pêche sur la côte ouest. Depuis 1994, la conserverie de poisson a sensibilisé et enrichi ses communautés en proposant des expositions, des collections, des programmes
destinés au public et des événements, rendant l’histoire accessible à tous. <o:p>
