On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Revelstoke Heritage Railway Society, I am pleased to advise that Scott Marsden has joined us as Executive Director. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Scott is no stranger to the BC museums community, and we are glad he has returned to BC! He has held senior management positions in Western and Northern Canada, including Executive Director at the Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery, Curator of Museum Collections at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre. He was also Research Associate at Aurora College in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories and Executive Director at the Haida Gwaii Museum, on Haida Gwaii. Scott holds a Ph.D. in Art Education from the University of Victoria, has a Master of Fine Art degree from York University and is an Associate of the OCAD University. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>During his career, Scott has led community-based initiatives in museums and art galleries in presenting the rich and diverse stories of communities in Western and Northern Canada that reflect the diversity of knowledge, histories, and heritage of various communities. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>“We are delighted that Scott Marsden is joining the Society,” said President George Hopkins. “He brings a strong and diverse set of museum and cultural resource management skills which will help us continue the progress we have enjoyed at the Revelstoke Railway Museum and Craigellachie Last Spike site. His experience with Indigenous peoples is especially noteworthy.
