pleased to present the 2-day workshop “Archives 101: Archival Practice for

Arts Council</span></a>, there will be two offerings of this workshop scheduled

<p style="margin-right:0cm;margin-left:0cm"><font face="arial, sans-serif"><span style="color:black">“Archives 101:
Archival Practice for Indigenous Organizations” will be of interest
to Tribal/First Nations Government administrators, archivists, cultural
memory keepers, and community members and students working to support and develop Indigenous archives programs.</span><span style="color:rgb(51,51,51)"></span></font></p>

<p style="margin-right:0cm;margin-left:0cm"><font face="arial, sans-serif"><span style="color:black">The workshop
will provide an introduction to archival theory and best practices that
participants will be able to use on a daily basis. Workshop participants will
learn how to create a foundation for developing their archives program and
strategies for the practical management and appraisal of records. They will
learn how to process and provide access to records created on different media
formats (textual records, audio-visual, sound recordings and electronic
records). Workshop discussion will also include best practices for disaster
planning, where to find archival resources, and different funding opportunities
available for Indigenous organizations. Woven throughout the discussion topics
will be reflections on how western archival practices can be balanced and
integrated to support Indigenous practices and protocols of knowledge sharing
and access.</span><span style="color:rgb(51,51,51)"></span></font></p>

to the workshop, participants will be asked to complete a brief survey to
identify issues and questions that will be incorporated into the training and

workshop will be delivered by Lisa Glandt, Education and Advisory Services
Coordinator for the AABC. Lisa has been refining and delivering this workshop both online
and in-person throughout British Columbia since 2018 and brings over 22 years
of archival experience to her dynamic training.</span><span style="color:rgb(51,51,51)"></span></font></p>

workshop will be delivered over 4 online sessions and it is recommended that

be delivered using Zoom webinar software. Zoom is free to download and links
will be provided to participants before the workshop starts. Participants will
need access to a computer with sound/speakers to view and follow along with the
