Budget 2021</a> today and here are a few highlights with you when it comes to museums.<br></p>

<p class="m_8093569700050505163MsoListParagraph"></p><ul><li>Investments for the <b>digitisation of information and collections</b> by non-national museums and heritage institutions, which will allow these institutions to create original content such as educational materials, apps, or other
 virtual activities to enhance the visitor experience ($23M over 3 years to the <b>
Museums Assistance Program</b>, starting in 2021-22).</li><li>$371.8 million in <b>new funding for Canada Summer Jobs</b> in 2022-23 to support approximately 75,000 new job placements in the summer of 2022. This is in addition to 2020 Fall Economic Statement funding for approximately 94,000
 additional job placements in 2021-22.</li><li>New funding to help upgrade arts and heritage organisations to meet public health guidelines. $15 million in 2021-22 to the
<b>Canada Cultural Spaces Fund</b>.</li></ul><p></p><ul><li>Extension of the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy, the Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy and the Lockdown Support until September 2021. The subsidy rates would gradually decline over the July-to-September period to target sectors that
 are slower to recover </li><li>To promote recovery from the pandemic for heritage, arts, and sport sectors that contribute so much to the cultural life of Canada, we propose to invest $300 million over two years, starting in 2021-22, to Canadian Heritage to establish a Recovery Fund for Heritage, Arts, Culture, Heritage and Sport Sectors.</li></ul><p></p>
