Are you working on an interesting project? Have you come across a
mysterious record that the archival community should know about? Is your
archives celebrating a milestone? Why not write about it!
The AABC is now seeking contributions for our next issue of the AABC
Newsletter. We are open to all content ideas, including (but not limited
to): articles, paper excerpts, project summaries, opinion pieces,
archives/archivist spotlights, archives in the news, and upcoming event
promotions. See below for more ideas for submissions.
Please submit your content proposals (max 250 words) to:
aabc.secretary at aabc.ca.

*Member Spotlight*
In each issue, we would like to highlight the work and perspectives of an
archivist, records professional, student, or volunteer from across the
province.
*From the Stacks — Collection Features*
This section showcases collection highlights from BC institutions.
- A notable item or series
- A recently completed or ongoing processing project
- Newly available or updated finding aids
- Digitized materials or online exhibitions
- Conservation or rehousing work
Submissions may include short descriptions and images (with permission).
*Archival Innovations Across BC*
This section is dedicated to practical innovations and new approaches in
archival work across the province. Examples may include:
- New workflows or policies
- Tools or software that improved processes
- Community engagement strategies
- Born-digital or digitization initiatives
- Environmental monitoring or preservation improvements
*Indigenous Partnerships & Protocols Corner*
This ongoing column supports respectful and collaborative work between
archives and Indigenous communities. Topics may include:
- Access and use protocols
- Community-based description
- Relationship-building practices
- Approaches for reviewing legacy descriptions
- Co-developed stewardship projects
Archival Institutions and Indigenous-led Archive organizations are welcome
to submit examples of partnership work, provided they have consent from all
participating communities.
*Student & Emerging Archivists Corner*
This section welcomes:
- Student profiles
- Internship reflections
- Co-op project summaries
- Advice for entering the profession
- Opportunities for mentorship or collaboration
BC iSchool students and interns from archives across the province are
invited to contribute.
*From the Field: BC History Focus*
Each issue highlights a topic in BC history and points readers to related
archival holdings.
Institutions can submit:
- Historical themes relevant to their region
- Archival materials documenting events, communities, or industries
- Links to digital or physical exhibits
- Projects involving community memory or oral history work
