Family Day events planned in Kelowna’s Cultural District


Art Activities, Art Exhibitions, Open Art Studio, Prizes, Programs, and more!

February 11, 2026 – Kelowna, BC: Three organizations in the Cultural District have banded together to ensure this Family Day is a creative one for families. The Kelowna Art Gallery, Okanagan Heritage Museum, and Rotary Centre for the Arts have teamed up to offer visitors a day filled with play, creativity, curiosity, and discovery called “Stir the Pot.”



The Kelowna Art Gallery will be open on Monday, February 16, 2026, from 10 am to 4 pm. Visitors can choose from a variety of art activities to tackle, exhibitions to explore, projects within the art studio, and many more options. Families are encouraged to start their art adventure by getting inspired by the artworks on view in the four gallery spaces. Feel small next to the giant 9-feet-tall paintings in Floor Opener by Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun Lets’lo:tseltun. Or view the big action-style photographs of Rita Leistner that capture tree planters working in remote areas of British Columbia in The Tree Planters.



Visitors are invited to explore their food heritage through “Stir the Pot.” This hands-on, family-friendly art activity is inspired by shared food, family recipes, and cooking traditions. Guided by our friendly staff, this creative activity offers a fun and meaningful way to connect across generations. Space is limited so pre-register to secure a table.



Looking for more creative fun? Check out the Art Lab, where families can create together at their own pace using materials provided. This self-guided experience includes simple instructions and supplies. No registration is required, just drop in and start creating.

Plan to make a day of it in the Cultural District. Pick up a Family Day Passport at the Gallery, Okanagan Heritage Museum, or Rotary Centre for the Arts, take part in the activities, collect your passport stamps, and enter for a chance to win a gift basket filled with prizes.
