Job Summary:
The Visitor Experience Assistant is a front-of-house role supporting
visitor services, Museum Store operations, and community programs. This
part-time student position offers hands-on experience in museum operations,
retail, customer service, and heritage-sector work. The Assistant will help
create a welcoming, inclusive, and educational environment for all visitors.
Key Responsibilities:

Welcome and assist visitors, providing information on exhibits, Museum
programs, and local railway history.

Process admissions, memberships, and retail sales using the Museum’s POS
system.

Assist with merchandising, inventory management, and online order
fulfillment.

Perform light administrative tasks and support Museum operations and
events.

Contribute to maintaining an accessible, safe, and welcoming environment
for visitors of all abilities.
Qualifications:
-
Student (high school, college, or university). No diploma required.

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and
the ability to learn POS systems.

Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.
-
Enthusiasm for heritage, tourism, and community engagement.

Ability to lift up to 20 kg and work flexible hours, including weekends
and holidays.

Work Environment:

Part-time, in-person position at the Revelstoke Railway Museum, located
in downtown Revelstoke, BC.

Hands-on experience in heritage tourism, retail operations, and visitor
engagement.
