Duration: Temporary Full Time
Salary: $5,491 – 5,719 – 5,957 – 6,200 – 6,460/month (2024 Rates)
Schedule: 70 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM

This position works at the Burnaby Village Museum (BVM) under Program Services. This is educational programming and supervisory work entailing responsibility for the development and implementation of public and school programs at the BVM. An incumbent plans, develops, schedules, implements, coordinates, evaluates and revises a variety of programs; researches, consults on, assesses the need for and designs and develops new programs; plans, assigns, schedules, trains, supervises and reviews the work of auxiliary subordinates engaged in program leadership and directs the work of contract instructors; provides site supervision and participates in operational activities. In addition, an incumbent establishes and maintains effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts; assists a supervisor in preparation of preliminary operating budget estimates for programs. Considerable independence of judgement and action is exercised in performance of assigned duties within established guidelines. Unusual problems or policy matters are referred to a supervisor who reviews work performance in terms of attainment of desired objectives. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include a University degree in Museology, History, First Nations, Education or related discipline plus sound related experience preferably including some supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Sound knowledge of the school curriculum and of the interests and needs of the community served. Ability to design, develop, coordinate, schedule, supervise, implement and evaluate the provision of programs. Ability to prepare and maintain records, reports, correspondence and other materials. A valid Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is required. A Police Information Check is required for this position.
This is a Temporary Full Time position until May 30, 2027.
