Greetings everyone,
The Port Hardy Heritage Society is wanting to undertake a feasibility study
to inform our next steps as we consider a possible expansion and merger of
services under one roof. For reference, we run two locations -- the Museum
& Archives as well as the Visitor Information Center.
We would like to know if anyone has been through this process and if there
are recommendations for professionals on Vancouver Island that do this
work? Does it need to be a specialized contractor? What type of budget
should we be looking at?
Our visitor centre (which is the only one we can possibly expand) is
located in an archeology zone, so that is a huge consideration. A lot of
Port Hardy is identified as such, so it is a common consideration for
building projects here.
We welcome any insight or guidance from any organization that has been
through the process.
Kind regards,
Robin Folvik
Curator/Director

exchange for many coastal nations. We honour the Kwakiutl as caretakers of
these lands and waters and are committed to elevating Indigenous voices,
knowledge, and perspectives.*
