On behalf of the Friends of the BC Archives (FBCA) Board, we are sharing this call regarding several openings on the FBCA executive for 2025-26.
We plan to fill these positions at our upcoming hybrid in-person/Zoom AGM, which will be held in early December 2025.
The following 6 positions will be open for nominations:
-President, a 2-year term
-Secretary, a 1-year term
-Treasurer, a 1-year term
-Director (up to 3x), a 2-year term
One of the primary objectives of the FBCA is to develop, encourage, and assist with initiatives that support local and regional archives, primarily in British Columbia and Canada. We encourage and welcome new Board members from across the province: residency in Victoria or the Capital Regional District is NOT required.
We encourage anyone from across the BC heritage sector and GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums) community to consider joining our Board - including everyone from students and early career GLAM professionals, to working researchers and historians, to late-career professionals, retirees, and volunteers.
We welcome the knowledge, insights, and vision of those with years of archival and research experience, along with the energy and ideas of those just embarking on a life and career in history, heritage, and culture.
All Nominees for Board positions must be FBCA members at the time of nomination. For more information on membership, see the following link:

For more information about the work of the FBCA, our current initiatives and priorities, and the nature of duties associated with serving on the Board, please contact FBCA President Lara Wilson ljwilson at uvic.ca<mailto:ljwilson at uvic.ca>.
Thank you for sharing this call throughout your networks, and thank you for considering a role in supporting archives, history, and heritage in BC as part of the Friends of the BC Archives!
