Media invite to the opening of Global Threads: The Art and Fashion of Indian Chintz

VICTORIA, BC - Join us at the Royal BC Museum for the official opening of Global Threads: The Art and Fashion of Indian Chintz.

Global Threads: The Art of Fashion of Indian Chintz features 80 objects spanning 10 centuries and 4 continents showcasing India's painted and printed cottons, and their enduring impact on art, science and fashion while uncovering their complicated history of labour and consumption.

The exhibition is produced and circulated by the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) and presents a historical, cultural and economic framework for Indian chintz from 13th century archaeological fragments to contemporary audio-visual content from today's most prolific clothmakers.

Dr. Sarah Fee, Senior Curator of Global Fashion and Textiles (Asia and Africa) at the ROM and curator of this exhibition will be available for interviews during the times listed below.

Place:    3rd Floor, Royal BC Museum

8:45AM: Presentations will take place with Emma Marentette, Object-Textile Conservator, Tracey Drake, CEO and Dr. Sarah Fee
9-10 AM: Dr. Sarah Fee will be available in the 3rd floor exhibition space for interviews
