[BCMA] Antique Monarch Malleable stove from early 1900s

Hello,

A local community member has contacted us looking for a home for his antique wood stove.  Unfortunately we already have several wood stoves in our collection with strong provenance.  He has given permission to post this on the BCMA listserv, in case another museum or heritage site can use it in some way.

He notes that he purchased the stove from an antique store in Steveston in 2000. Prior to that, it had been in use in the interior of British Columbia. It remains in excellent condition and has been well cared for during his time with it.
Rather than seeking a private buyer, the owner would prefer to see this wonderful piece of history preserved and appreciated as cultural heritage. “We believe it could be a meaningful addition to the Museum’s collection, particularly in its representation of early domestic life in the region”.
