[BCMA] LMCG: In-Person Meeting July 24, 2-3:30 pm at Historic Stewart Farm and Totest Aleng: Indigenous Learning House

Lower Mainland Curators Group is excited to present our next in-person
meeting hosted by the City of Surrey at Historic Stewart Farm and Totest
Aleng: Indigenous Learning House on Thursday, July 24 from 2:00 – 3:30 pm.
Staff from Surrey’s Heritage Services will provide a guided tour of the
buildings and talk about the programs and services offered, including
jointly led, park-wide events such as the upcoming Harvest Fair in
September. They are located in Elgin Heritage Park in South Surrey.



All are welcome to attend this free session but RSVP is required. Email
lowermainlandcurators at gmail.com to RSVP with more details to follow.



*Accessibility*

There is free onsite parking.



The park has gravel paths, and the buildings are mostly accessible — TA and
the Farmhouse have ramps to access the main level. Visitors with mobility
devices will not be able to access the upper floor of the Farmhouse.



*About Lower Mainland Curators Group*

The Lower Mainland Curators Group (LMCG) was created in January 2019 for
anyone with an interest in curatorial work, ideas, or themes in British
Columbia.

The group is coordinated by a team of volunteer organizing members from
museums around Metro Vancouver to discuss topics or themes related to
curatorial work. It is for anyone with an interest in our sector including
students, museum workers, and those in professions facing similar issues.

We present quarterly virtual and in-person sessions to discuss newly
launched projects, share challenges and successes, and discuss lessons
learned.
