FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 2, 2025
Countdown Begins: Caetani Summer Music Festival is Just Over Two Weeks Away!

Genre-bending Western swing band Petunia and the Vipers headlines this
year’s Caetani Summer Music Festival on July 19.

VERNON, B.C. — Get ready for the ultimate sonic adventure for music lovers
of all kinds, with sounds ranging from indie folk and rock to bluegrass,
country, jazz, and western swing.

The annual Caetani Summer Music Festival, happening July 19, is a vibrant
celebration of live music and community spirit, featuring artisan vendors,
local food trucks, a 19+ cash bar, and plenty of fun!

“Local Losers Underground, the Vernon-based grassroots production company,
has taken on the role of our music coordination. The team of enthusiastic
technicians and visionaries, headed by Noah McLeod, is dedicated to
supporting musicians and artists in the Okanagan and across B.C. We are
lucky to have them on board,” said Caetani Centre Executive Director Laisha
Rosnau.

Bex and Sidney Bos are experienced local singer-songwriters known for their
passionate indie sound and heartfelt lyricism.

The Rocky Mountain Wildflowers draw influence from decades of country and
western music, blending swinging rhythms and classic instrumentation with a
distinctly B.C. backwoods vibe.

October Poppy brings a nostalgic yet fresh sound—think Fleetwood Mac raised
on riot grrrl records and Pacific Northwest rain. Influenced by the likes
of Patti Smith, The Pixies, and Lucy Dacus, October Poppy delivers poetic
lyricism wrapped in a gritty, danceable sound.

The Jazz Implication is a fusion ensemble that incorporates hip hop, Afro
beats, modern jazz, and more. With tight grooves and innovative
compositions, they offer a bold, high-energy take on jazz fusion.

Lone Valley Band draws inspiration from the serene beauty and wide-open
spaces of rural B.C. Their immersive sound is grounded in powerful
songwriting, creative collaboration, and heartfelt performance.
Festival Headliner: Petunia and the Vipers

Petunia and the Vipers deliver an eclectic, genre-defying blend of original
music that incorporates classic 1920s–1970s country, blues, western swing,
alternative country rock, Mexicana, French cabaret, Romanian folk, ragtime,
jazz, punk, and more. The band has been described as: “A new music that
springboards off music of the past and jumps into the present day…
Something in between 1920s and steampunk.”

Frontman Petunia has spent over 25 years performing across Europe, North
and South America—from hobo haunts and hitchhiking junctions to dive bars,
churches, and historic theatres.

Joining The Vipers are: Stephen Nikleva (electric guitar), Jimmy Roy (lap
steel guitar), and Matt Dawe (drums). Nikleva and Roy each bring over 40
years of touring experience, providing the musical backbone of the band
with fiery solos and lush arrangements.
More Than Music: Food Trucks & More

Local food vendors include: Moose Caboose, Kamui Japanese Curry, and Lil
Lia’s Real Frozen Yogurt. A cash bar (19+) will also be available
throughout the day.

“The Caetani Centre would like to thank VantageOne Credit Union and The
Tent Guys for the use of their community tent for the festival” said
Kristin Froneman, Caetani Communications and Programs Coordinator.
