[BCMA] Friends of the BC Archives /2025 Indigenous Research Fund, call for applications

Applications for the Indigenous Research Fund Now Open!

Friends of the BC Archives (FBCA) is pleased to announce the 2025 funding cycle for the renewed Indigenous Research Fund (IRF). The IRF is intended to increase access for Indigenous peoples to BC Archives collections; and new this year, the funds can be also used for projects seeking access to materials in the Royal BC Museum’s Indigenous Collections and Repatriation Department (ICAR). The Indigenous Research Fund (IRF) began as a response to the 2015 Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (Specifically calls 67 to 70<https://us17.mailchimp.com/mctx/clicks?url=https%3A%2F%2Fnctr.ca%2Frecords%2Freports%2F&xid=96cd390ffd&uid=89585089&iid=55abceb29d&pool=cts&v=2&c=1738439670&h=6f31f609ed120b13937b15d3f428ea9bf35ed42d5ac9cf44eda39659e534b2e9>). The funds for this award are provided by the Friends of the BC Archives (FBCA) and the Royal BC Museum and Archives (RBCM). The IRF is intended to increase access for Indigenous peoples to:

  *   BC Archives (BCA) collections; + / or
  *   RBCM Indigenous Collections and Repatriation Department (ICAR) materials.
The IRF is open to any individual (youth, student, adult, elder) who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, Inuit), or to any organization with a mandate to serve the interests of Indigenous peoples. Applications are welcome from any individual or organization, within or outside of British Columbia, who meets these criteria.

One grant of $2,000 is awarded annually. Application period will from February 1st to March 14th
