The Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre

individuals to join our museum's Collections & Archives Team for the
following positions:
*Processing & Outreach Archivist (leave coverage)*
The Processing & Outreach Archivist will participate in preserving and
making accessible archival material related to the history and heritage of
Japanese Canadians. They will process collections and fonds, coordinate
outreach, support reference & loan services, coordinate and support special
projects, conduct training for students and community workers, and
contribute to the management of the NNMCC Collections & Archives.
Term: 1-Year Contract January/February 2026 – March 2027, Full-Time (Leave
Coverage)
Hours: 35 hours per week. 9:30am – 5:00pm Tuesday to Saturday (with
expectation to adjust schedule to support activities).
Salary: $28/hr plus NNMCC Benefits Package and 2-weeks paid vacation.
3-Month probation period.
*Collections Assistant*
The Collections Assistant will participate in preserving and making
accessible archival material related to the history and heritage of
Japanese Canadians. They will assist in the NNMCC’s reference services
including research requests; reproduction orders; and the development of
research guides. They will assist with the NNMCC's digitization
project, *Tomoni:
Living with Ability, Atsu’s Story*, which will make accessible the
significant materials from the Uyeda Family of Nakusp Collection. The
Collections Assistant will also support the management of donation offers,
unprocessed donations, accessioned collections, and reference materials.
Term: 1-Year Contract January/February 2026 – March 2027, Full-Time
Hours: 35 hours per week. 9:30am – 5:00pm Tuesday to Saturday (with
expectation to adjust schedule to support activities).
Salary: $23/hr plus NNMCC Benefits Package and 2-weeks paid vacation.
3-Month probation period.
*Facility Team*
Additionally, our organization has ongoing opportunities to join our
Facility Team which supports all operations including the museum &
archives. They are a hands-on staff person assuming overall responsibility
for the set up and cleaning duties and for facilitating use of the Nikkei
National Museum & Cultural Centre.
Employment Period: Part-time and On-call
Salary: $17.85/per hour
