[BCMA] Speaker Series: Broken Laws- queer history rarely followed the script @ VPMA

The Vancouver Police Museum & Archives are excited to extend Pride this
year and present our newest Speaker Series: Broken Laws- Queer History
Rarely Followed the Script with award-winning tour guide and storyteller
Glenn Tkack on August 14th.

Queer people were defined as law-breakers by the Canadian Criminal Code.
But the laws were already broken.
Join queer storyteller Glenn Tkach, creator of the award-winning Really Gay
History Tour, as he delves into the legal history of Vancouver’s queer
community.
Discover the surprising ways that Canadian law shaped local queer culture,
and how Vancouver’s queer law-breakers re-shaped the legal code.

Whilst this is a difficult story to tackle, we are excited for Glenn's
warmth, humour and insight to do this history justice. We are also proud to
host this within the Old Coroner's Court, surrounded by the VPD's history.
A testament to the mistakes of the past and the ongoing work being done by
organisations such as Out On Patrol.
