[BCMA] Job Posting: Contract Tour Guide

The Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art in Vancouver, BC is seeking an outgoing and friendly tour presenter to provide exhibition tours of the gallery on a contract basis from May – September 2025.
Tour presenters with Indigenous ancestry are encouraged to apply.
The contract will include:
* Estimated number of tours is 80 over the course of 5 months. Exact numbers, dates and times may vary.
* 3-6 tours of the gallery per week
* Each booking time is generally 2 hours long (tours last about one hour)
* Depending on the size of the group, tours may be presented by more than one guide
* The Bill Reid Gallery will provide a tour script
* The contract will include two hours of paid preparation time
* Hourly fee of $30/hour
The schedule changes each week, but in general tours are booked at the following times:
* Monday afternoon - 4pm
* Wednesday morning - 9am
* Thursday afternoon – 4pm
* Saturday morning - 9am
* Saturday afternoon – 3:30pm
* Sunday morning – 10:00am
Requirements:
Great public speaking skills and tour experience
Outgoing and friendly personality
Interest and knowledge in Northwest Coast Indigenous art and culture
Punctuality
English fluency
Flexible schedule
