2024 Annual General Meeting
Dear Members of the Friends of the BC Archives,
On behalf of the FBCA Board, I am writing to advise you of several openings on the FBCA executive. We plan to fill these positions at our upcoming AGM, which will be held October 29<https://friendsbcarchives.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=fe17fe0e608ccfc97ef7d3d38&id=bd794ab6e1&e=f91c0b327a>th<https://friendsbcarchives.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=fe17fe0e608ccfc97ef7d3d38&id=bd794ab6e1&e=f91c0b327a> at 7pm (on Zoom<https://friendsbcarchives.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=fe17fe0e608ccfc97ef7d3d38&id=bd794ab6e1&e=f91c0b327a>).
We encourage anyone from across the BC heritage sector and GLAM community to consider joining our Board and helping to support and promote the FBCA mission<https://friendsbcarchives.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=fe17fe0e608ccfc97ef7d3d38&id=f50fa65d39&e=f91c0b327a>. We would love to expand our executive team to include everyone from students and early career GLAM professionals, to working researchers and historians, to late-career professionals, retirees, and volunteers.
We welcome the experience, insights, and vision of those with years of archival and research experience, along with the energy and ideas of those just embarking on a life and career in history, heritage, and culture.
As the BC Archives prepares for its move to the new PARC campus in Colwood, BC, the work of the FBCA in advocacy and awareness raising is more important than ever. We encourage and welcome new Board members from across the province: residency in Victoria or the Capital Regional District is NOT required.
The following positions are open for nominations as of October 2024:
* Secretary, a 1-year term
* Directors (x3), each a 2-year term.
We will be seeking a new President in October 2025. We particularly welcome expressions of interest from people who might consider stepping into that role after serving as a Director in 2024-2025.
All Nominees for Board positions must be FBCA members at the time of nomination. For more information on membership, click here <https://friendsbcarchives.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=fe17fe0e608ccfc97ef7d3d38&id=46aead294f&e=f91c0b327a>
