Hi, everyone out there in Museum-land,

The Creston Museum has been offered a quarter-scale, working model of a
65hp Case steam traction engine, built by Hartland Scale Models of New
Norway, AB. I have not seen the creature myself, but it's apparently a fair
size, weighing approximately 600-700 pounds. It comes with a bunch of
photos detailing its construction, owners' manual (looks like for the
original, full-sized machine), and several small books on troubleshooting
steam traction engines. I'm told it runs well and is set up to operate on
propane.

The donor is offering it to us, but while it does sound intriguing it
presents all sorts of logistical problems, so with his permission I'm
reaching out to see if any other museums would be interested. The donor
would like to see it go somewhere where it will be loved and appreciated -
it is a donation, but you'd have to make arrangements to come and get it.

A couple of photos attached!

If you're interested, please give me a shout at tammy at crestonmuseum.ca or
250-428-9262 and I'll connect you with the donor.

Tammy
