Good morning BCMA Colleagues,
As part of Sidney Museum's ongoing collections management work, we have
come across a selection of items that were never formally accessioned into
the Museum's permanent collection. Due to their being found-in-collection
and a lack of provenance information, we are offering them for transfer.
I have attached a document to this email that includes photos of the items
in question, and can provide summative information below:
1. Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) Service Dress Jacket c.1938.
2. Royal Canadian Airforce Dress Shoes
3. Canadian Army WW2-era "Walking Out Uniform" Jacket, Pants, & ankle
puttees, made by Selfast Manufacturing
4. Royal Canadian Airforce Jacket and Cap c. 1956
5. Peaked Cap from 29th Vancouver Battalion, "Tobin's Tigers", Canadian
Expeditionary Force.
6. Steamer Trunk that the donor claimed came to Canada in the 1790's.
Handmade cedar, wrought iron and original cowhide. approximately 3 feet
long, 2 feet wide, 1.5 feet tall.
All items will be available for transfer until Thursday, November 28th.
Please note that receiving institutions are asked to reimburse Sidney
Museum for packaging and shipping costs.
Thank you!
Michael Goodchild
