Not directly answering your questions at all. But raising an interesting
situation with your objects being tin and me being a conservator
particularly of metal.
If you had an emergency in winter and your gallery/ store got to minus 13
the tin objects would change to their allotrope of beta tin and not be
the nice metallic tin but become tin dust
Allotropes are same element different form , a few elements can do this
We call this tin pest
Some believe Napoleon invasion of Russia one problem was the tin buttons
changed to dust
