[BCMA] UBC Edwin S.H. Leong Centre for Healthy Aging: Promoting the Healthy Aging Visual Art Prize

Dear members,

I hope this message finds you well! My name is Adith, and I am reaching out
on behalf of the UBC Edwin S.H. Leong Centre for Healthy Aging
<https://healthyaging.med.ubc.ca/> (ELCHA) at the University of British
Columbia (UBC).

The ELCHA is pleased to announce a call for submissions to the *Healthy
Aging Visual Art Prize*, an art contest that aims to explore and celebrate
the theme of “Healthy Human Aging” through visual art forms. We believe
that your association’s extensive reach within the museum and art
communities in BC could greatly enhance the visibility and participation in
this contest, and we would like to seek your assistance in disseminating
this information to your networks and channels (including your
institution’s members and individual members).

Please find below a brief overview of the contest:

   - *Theme:* Healthy Human Aging
   - *Accepted Mediums:* Painting, drawing, small sculpture, photography,
   ceramics, mixed media, glass, printmaking, and digital art
   - *Not Accepted Mediums:* Film or video, AI-generated art, and
   photography with filters applied
   - *Submission Deadline:* September 30th, 2024

All entries will be showcased in a digital art gallery. Up to 16 finalists
will be invited to present their work at an Artist Night at the Djavad
Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health at the UBC Vancouver campus in January
2025, where prizes will be awarded. Selected finalists will also have the
opportunity to exhibit their work at the Jericho Arts Centre in Vancouver.
