Hello!

Please consider completing this short (5-10 minutes) anonymous survey so we may better understand how GLAMS* use digital storage technologies to preserve digital cultural assets. *galleries, libraries, archives, museums and special collections.

Complete the survey<https://221a.ca/event/survey-digital-preservation-of-cultural-assets/> by August 5, 2024!

This study is being conducted by 221A's Node Library, through the Mitacs Accelerate program and Blockchain at UBC. As part of its pilot phase, the Node Library<https://221a.ca/project/node-library/> is engaging in the research and development of a digital storage system prototype utilizing the network infrastructure of decentralized protocols.

Thank you for your consideration,

This research is being conducted by the Node Library; UBC Principle Investigator Dr. Victoria Lemieux; Hypha Worker Co-operative<https://hypha.coop/>; and myself as part of a research project titled “Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) for Digital Storage and Preservation Systems: A Prototype Runway for 221A.”

About 221A:
221A is a charitable arts organization located in Vancouver, Canada. 221A works with artists and designers to research and develop social, cultural and ecological infrastructure. 221A envisions a pluralistic society in which all people have the means to access and make culture.
221A acknowledges that the area called Vancouver is within the unceded Indigenous territories belonging to the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm<https://www.musqueam.bc.ca/> (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh<https://www.squamish.net/> (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ<https://twnation.ca/> (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples. 221A recognizes that the colony of British Columbia was created through organized dispossession and colonial violence. 221A seeks to shift its organizational practices to work together with Indigenous people to end ongoing violence, dispossession, and displacement.
