[BCMA] Roedde House Museum Hiring Collections and Exhibitions Coordinator

Roedde House Museum is hiring a Collections and Exhibitions Coordinator for a 4-month contract with a potential extension into 2025. 
This part-time role (21 hrs/week, Mon-Wed) offers an hourly wage of $22.50, starting tentatively in October 2024.

 

About Us:

Roedde House Museum, a restored Victorian home in Vancouver’s West End, operates on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. The museum, run by the Roedde House Preservation Society, showcases Vancouver’s early history and heritage.

 

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Museum Manager, you'll work with volunteers and Board Members to maintain collections, coordinate exhibitions, oversee school programs, and support concert and film night programs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Collection Management & Administration: Maintain collections, update databases, manage donation records.

Exhibitions: Develop and manage special exhibitions.

School Program: Plan and schedule school tours.

Concert Program: Coordinate monthly concerts.

Film Night Program: Coordinate monthly film nights.

General Duties: Facilitate daily museum operations, support marketing initiatives, and assist volunteers and staff.


Qualifications:

Degree/diploma in museum studies, library science, or related fields, or equivalent experience.

Familiarity with collections databases (Collective Access preferred).

Experience in museums or cultural heritage institutions.

Administrative and supervisory skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Strong communication skills.

Experience with early childhood education/programming.

Commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Passion for history and community engagement.
