[BCMA] Item for Transfer from Britannia Shipyards NHS

Hello,

Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site would like to donate a 36" bandsaw from the site's working collection. Please contact Nadin Hassan if you are interested in this item for transfer to another cultural heritage institution.

The bandsaw was manufactured by The MacGregor Gourlay Co Limited, Galt ON and sold by AR Williams Mac Co of Vancouver (dated c. 1896-1910). It was historically used in wooden boat building for Steveston's fishing industry. It was later modified to have new wooden guards, and restored for use in active woodworking and boat restoration onsite. The bandsaw may be functional again with a few new parts.

Attached are images of the bandsaw. The approximate dimensions are: 8ft length x 4ft width x 9ft height.

We are hoping to find a new home for this bandsaw, arranging pickup ideally by August 16. Please let us know if you have any questions or would like to organize a site visit to see it in person.
