Background:

The Centre for Sustainable Practice in the Arts (CSPA) developed the Creative Greens tools for arts organizations (theatres, galleries, museums). The purpose of the tools are to:

1. Guide orgs in assessing your overall organizational environmental sustainability

2. Guide event, show or exhibition sustainability planning –and

3. Measure your organization’s carbon footprint and/or your event-specific carbon footprint.

Who should attend:

     * Designers, builders, curators, and managers involved in planning, building & managing events and exhibitions (from within the arts sector, or working with the sector)
     * While the tool help guide planning and decision-making, calculating energy, waste and emissions requires input of data –so be sure to include whoever would compile data.

Time commitment & the benefits:

Time estimates for completing your inventory in the tool and getting planning guidance results takes about 3-6 hours in the first year. It gets faster subsequent times, once you get the basics of how to use the platform and where to collect the data.

Ideally you would use the tools as part of planning before each staged event/exhibition in future, and you could use the tools to report to funders, clients, sponsors, community, etc.

Hope to say many of you at the session!
